Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Anthony Knockaert has been voted by you as the best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Knockaert is the best player in the Football League.

The countdown is over, and Anthony Knockaert has come out on top. He has officially been voted by you as the best player in the EFL this season. The talented midfielder sadly suffered the loss of his father half way through the season, but this has not stopped him from excelling all year, and helping Brighton earn promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history. Knockaert has played 45 times for his side this season, scoring an impressive 15 goals from midfield. As well as his goals, he has provided more. He’s assisted nine goals for his team mates. He has been central to everything that Brighton have done, and fully deserves his chance in the top flight.

He has previous history in the second tier. Knockaert is a former Leicester City player, and he featured in the Play-Offs for the Foxes. He left England in 2015, moving to Belgium where he played for Standard Liege. His stint in Belgium was not particularly long, and he moved back to Brighton in January 2016, and has been a key player for the Seagulls ever since. Knockaert will be looking forward to testing himself against the very best in the Premier League next year.
