Top 50 Players of the EFL – 8th: Tammy Abraham (Bristol City)

Bristol City striker Tammy Abraham has been voted by you as the 8th best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Abraham is the 8th best player in the Football League.

This time last year, no one outside of Chelsea academy observers knew who Abraham was. Now, everyone knows who he is. That’s how good he has been this season. Coming into Ashton Gate with a lot of pressure on shoulders because the club had sold their star striker Jonathan Kodjia to Aston Villa and needed someone else to score goals, Abraham ended up being a perfect fit and simply couldn’t stop scoring for the Robins and ended up becoming one of the stories of the season.

In the end, Abraham would end up scoring 26 goals in 48 appearances and becoming one of the Sky Bet Championship’s top scorers in the process, being up at the top with strikers who have a lot more experience in this league. He marked himself out as one of the brightest prospects in the country and he may end up becoming one of England’s top strikers in the future if he continues the develop like many expect him to.

Abraham will now return to parent club Chelsea after the end of his loan but could end up somewhere else next season as several teams are interested in his signature.
