Before kick-off…

Bradford City and Millwall fans were all set for the match at Wembley; where the results decided whether their team will be promoted or be facing another season in League One.

Is it raining, by any chance?

Prior to kick-off, fans were enjoying the rain…

Even the mascot was ready for the game!

The Lions’ mascot, Zampa The Lion even headed to the game to support The Lions:

Billy Clarke, so close!

The Irishman almost put Bradford in the lead after his strike was saved by Jordan Archer’s fingertips. Personally, I thought it was a great chance for the Yorkshire side, the fans – not so much.

Clarke may not have had the best feedback, but The Lions’ keeper caught the eye of fans…

Key Player: Bradford City – Mark Marshall

The Jamaican midfielder impressed Wembley during the first half. Not only that, but those on Twitter didn’t mind having to say a couple of words about him:

Jazzie B? At Wembley?

The British DJ and music producer known as “Jazzie B” appeared to be in the Millwall end during the match. Some fans may not have realised that his full name is Trevor Beresford Romeo OBE – the father of Mahlon Romeo, Millwall’s defender.

Half Time: Bradford City 0-0 Millwall

After a tense first half, there were no goals from either sides. Millwall had not created as many chances as the Bantams but were given many corners.

It was just too tense…

The second half got underway and Millwall definitely began to dominate. Possession was found in their area, but the ball kept being blocked by Bradford.

Bradford City substitutions…

Fans were impressed with their squad today, but were even more happy to see Timothee Dieng and Alex Jones come onto the pitch for Billy Clarke and Nicky Law respectively.

Predictions, predictions…

Neil Harris’ men were becoming closer to scoring the first goal of the play-off final, but fell wide or was denied by the keeper. Fans noticed The Lions’ dominating the game and weren’t too slow to show their predictions…

STEVE MORISON!

The Welsh national secured Millwall’s lead with 5 minutes of the second half left after firing home from Lee Gregory’s flick. I would show you how others reacted to Millwall’s goal, but you can probably guess what people would have said…

Full Time: Millwall are in the Championship, and the fans invade…

Many Millwall fans jumped onto the pitch to celebrate their promotion, but not many fans across England were in favour of their actions…

Didn’t impress the manager, though.

What’s next?

Millwall find themselves in the Championship next season alongside Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers. The Lions haven’t been in the Championship since the 2014/15 season, where they found themselves in 22nd. They were close last season to going up, but were defeated to Barnsley.

Bradford City will be spending their 5th year in League One.
