Scunthorpe United midfielder Josh Morris has been voted by you as the 19th best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Morris is the 19th best player in the Football League.
While Morris was seen as a good signing for Scunthorpe when he moved there from Fleetwood Town in the summer, not many would have expected how good he would actually be. It turned out that he was the final piece in their puzzle and quickly became their star player and while he is a midfielder, either playing on the wing or centrally, he would become a serious goal threat.
In the first half of the season he would actually be one of the best goalscorers in Sky Bet League One and eyes across the division were raised when he scored six goals in six games. While he didn’t score as much in the second half of the season, which is probably why Scunthorpe had to settle for a place in the play-offs, he still finished the season with 20 goals and was the club’s highest goalscorer, beating Kevin van Veen by eight goals.
If Morris is to stay at Scunthorpe for next season, it appears there might be some interest from the Sky Bet Championship after his impressive season, he’ll hope to get the club one further after losing in the play-offs this season.
