Aston Villa, Derby County and Wolves have made offers to sign Huddersfield Town’s Aaron Mooy according to a report from Australian broadcaster SBS.
The 26-year-old midfielder is currently just on loan at Huddersfield from Manchester City but he has turned out to be one of the signings of the season. He has been key as the Terriers have surprised everyone and challenged for promotion, with the club competing for a place in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final tonight when they face off with Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
But shockingly, Huddersfield are yet to make a move to sign Mooy on a permanent deal or even extend his loan deal which has left the door open for their Championship rivals to try and sign him. And this report suggests that those rivals are taking advantage of this and are making offers to try and sign the Australian. Aston Villa, Derby and Wolves are all coming off the back of disappointing seasons where they failed to challenge for promotion like expected but believe that adding a star player like Mooy would help them to get further up the Championship table.
But the decision will lie with Manchester City who are unsure if they want to sell Mooy. With his great form this year head coach Pep Guardiola has been considering involving him in the first team next year. But one thing they have made clear is that if they do sell Mooy, they will be expecting an offer of at least £10million.
