Top 50 Players of the EFL – 22nd: Lewis Dunk (Brighton and Hove Albion)

Brighton and Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk has been voted by you as the 22nd best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Dunk is the 22nd best player in the Football League.

It was a huge achievement for Brighton to simply keep Dunk around this season. After having a great season last year, being a rock in their defence as the Seagulls narrowly missed out on promotion before crashing out of the play-offs, many thought it was a foregone conclusion that he would end up in the Premier League before Brighton did. However Dunk would end up staying around and it was great for both the player and the club as both finally made it into the top tier of English football.

Just like the season before, Dunk has been a leading figure in a Brighton defence that has been determined to concede even less goals than they did the season before. Not many strikers have been able to get better than Dunk and he has been showing why so many Premier League teams have been chasing him over the year.

Now Dunk will be looking forward to his first ever season in the Premier League with Brighton. And after being linked to moves to this division for a long time, he will have a point to prove that he can make it in this league.
