Sky Bet Championship winners Newcastle United are set to come up against Premier League sides Southampton and Everton as they try to secure the signature of Algerian international Ryad Boudebouz.
Boudebouz has enjoyed a successful season in the French Ligue 1 with Montpellier, but looks set to leave the French side this summer, according to The Mirror.
And recently promoted Newcastle United have taken a severe interest in the midfielder, who has scored 11 goals and assisted 13 for his club this season.
Boudebouz has also attracted interest from Olympique Lyonnais, as well as Italian club Lazio.
The Montpellier man is an experienced international, playing alongside Premier League winner Riyad Mahrez for Algeria.
He’s been capped by his country 24 times, including appearances in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
This is not the first time that Boudebouz has been linked with a move to the top flight in England.
In 2012, during his days at fellow French side Sochaux, Boudebouz looked set to make the move to the red side of Merseyside and join Liverpool.
Talks however broke down, and the talented Algerian decided to remain in France.
Boudebouz’s destination this summer remains unclear, but he is expected to want to play in the top flight in England.
Newcastle United have been linked with several different attacking players already since the confirmed their place as champions of the Sky Bet Championship, most notably Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez.
They look set to confirm the signing of Christian Atsu from Chelsea n the coming days, after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.
