The Sporting director of Swedish club Malmö has confirmed that Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson is training with the club.
Daniel Andersson confirmed the news to Swedish media outlet fotballskanalen.
The director said that Jansson is not doing anything too intense, but instead is focussing on remaining fit ahead of Sweden’s game with France next month.
He said: “We will always keep the door open for Pontus. He is mostly in the gym and doing some ball exercises. This is his way to keep a feel for the ball and keep fit for the national team in June, first and foremost,”
The future of Pontus Jansson is up in the air at the moment, amid an investigation from FIFA in relation to his transfer to Leeds United last summer.
The news is nothing for Leeds fans to worry about, as the report said it is just being done in order to keep Jansson fit.
The Swedish season runs at different times to the English season, hence why Malmö are still in training.
Since joining Leeds United last summer, Pontus Jansson has become a hero at Elland Road, and Whites fans are absolutely desperate for the big Swede to stay.
Even though he is simply training with Malmö, it has excited fans of the Swedish club. Jansson was also considered a club hero during his time in the top flight of Sweden.
