Derby County playmaker Will Hughes has been voted by you as the 29th best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Hughes is the 29th best player in the Football League.
Many years ago, Hughes was seen as one of the greatest young talents in the country and was being tracked by some of the best teams in the world including Barcelona. However a lot of the buzz around Hughes ended when he suffered a terrible injury a few years ago which ruled him out for many months. But while the newspapers now ignore him while writing stories about the latest big thing, Hughes is still producing great displays and showing that is still one of the best young talents in the country.
Hughes is simply an exciting player to watch, someone who is always looking to move the ball forward when he has the ball. Derby fans know when the ball goes to his feet, something exciting is going to happen in the next few seconds. Of course he is still young and makes mistakes, but the exciting style of play makes him a complete wild card that other teams in the Sky Bet Championship struggle to plan against.
Derby are coming off the back of a disappointing year where they failed to challenge for promotion but with Hughes on board they’ll hope to be back up there next season.
