Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has been voted by you as the 42nd best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Westwood is the 42nd best player in the Football League.
It has been well known that Westwood is one of the best goalkeepers in the Sky Bet Championship for a while now though once again he proved why he is thought of in such a way. Once again, he had a huge number of clean sheets, coming one off the club record for shut outs in a year. That’s a record that he matched the previous two seasons as well, showing how consistent he has been for the Owls since signing for them from Sunderland.
And while Westwood is lucky enough to have a great defence ahead of him, he has been able to pull off amazing saves throughout the season to keep Wednesday in games. He was even able to keep scores low when the defence was ravaged with injuries, with Westwood really showing his worth to the club in those times.
The season is not yet over for Westwood though as Wednesday once again qualified for the play-offs. He will be hoping to add to his clean sheet tally for the season when they face Huddersfield Town in the semi-finals so they can seal their return to Wembley.
