Sky Bet League Two side Notts County are the latest club to reveal their retained list following the conclusion of their season. Nine players have been officially released, whilst nine more have been offered extended terms to remain at Meadow Lane.

In addition to the six that have left, there are also three more players out of contract at Notts County. Manager Kevin Nolan has decided that those three will be inviting back for pre-season training in the hope of them impressing enough to essentially win themselves a new deal.

Focusing on those who Nolan has offered new deals to, they are headlined by Club Player of the Season Rob Milson. Veteran strikers Shola Ameobi and Jon Stead are two that the manager also would love to keep with the Magpies as well. Important defenders Richard Duffy and Haydn Hollis are another two who are firmly in the plans of the management, should they agree to stay. Curtis Thompson and Elliott Hewitt fall into that category too, as does Rob Edwards and Alan Smith, who have again been offered extensions to their player/coach roles.

Notts County finished 16th in the English fourth-tier and six have been shown the door by the club. Adam Campbell headline those departing after a few seasons in Nottinghamshire. He started 50 league games for the club. Central defender Thierry Audel appeared twenty times last season but didn’t do enough to earn a new deal. The same can apply to midfielder Mark Yeates. Luther Wildin and Jack McMillan barely featured so they will seek new challenges elsewhere. Scott Loach also leaves after ending the season out on loan at York City. Wes Atkinson, Jordan Richards and Montel Gibson will all be invited back for pre-season.

Released: Thierry Audel, Adam Campbell, Mark Yeates, Scott Loach, Jack McMillan & Luther Wildin.
