Charlton Athletic have been linked with Rochdale’s Ian Henderson, who is their star striker, netting 19 goals last season. Charlton fans have taken to Twitter to react to the rumour.

Karl Robinson has made clear on several occasions that he is passionate and prepared to mount a rebuild in the upcoming transfer window. The manager’s main objective is to return the Addicks’ to the Championship after next season, to then consolidate in the second tier and eventually aim for the top flight.

However, the likes of that occurring under Roland Duchatelet’s ownership is to be debated. Although despite all the questions and challenges to that aim in terms of the area of capacity and flexibility to create a side capable of doing that, Robinson is still trying.

Charlton currently faces a problem whereby their strikers are not ruthless enough in front of goal. The Addicks’ top goal scorer is their midfielder and winger, Ricky Holmes, who has 13, followed by Northern Ireland international Josh Magennis at 10, and then followed by Everton’s Ademola Lookman at 7.

Karl Robinson and his staff have identified Ian Henderson as a potential player to solve the current lack of scoring potency in the side.

Charlton Athletic fans have taken to Twitter to react to the link with Ian Henderson. The overall mood for being linked with the striker seems to be negative.
