Late goal flurry could see summer interest for Forest hotshot

Britt Assombalonga’s late flurry of goals in the Sky Bet Championship could see the player attract fresh transfer interest from rival Sky Bet Championship clubs.

The 24-year-old Zaire born hotshot has not been at his most prolific this season with the player netting 14 goals in just 33 games but four goals in the final three matches of the season have fired a reminder to all of just what the player can do.

Assombalonga netted twice as Forest defeated Ipswich Town 3-0 at The City Ground to secure their Sky Bet Championship status on the final day of the season and while the player also missed a penalty, the two goals which the striker did score were of the highest quality.

The player has netted an amazing 95 goals in 201 senior career appearances and Assombalonga’s latest glut of goals will have attracted a number of admirers.

Should the proposed takeover of Forest be completed in the coming weeks, it is likely that the club’s prospective new owners will reject any approach from other clubs for the player’s services particularly after being left less than impressed by current owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi’s decision to sell star winger Oliver Burke to RB Leipzig last August.

With Forest having come so close to relegation this season, the club must now look forward and they must hold on to their assets as The Reds look to hopefully begin a new era under new ownership.
