Wolves are set to make an approach to sign Nottingham Forest’s Daniel Pinillos on a free transfer according to a report on Page 63 of the May 7th edition of The Sun on Sunday.
When Wolves were taken over by Fosun International last year, they immediately invested a lot of money into the squad in an attempt to try and get the Black County side promoted. However that would not work out and Wolves would end up succumbing to mid-table mediocrity.
However they are determined to make sure that this doesn’t happen again next season and Wolves are already looking to recruit players for next season. And one player they have been revealed to be looking at is Pinillos, who currently plays for their Sky Bet Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.
The Paul Lambert managed side are looking to improve their defence and while Pinillos has in and out of the Forest first team this year due to a number of injury problems, they have been impressed with the performances he has put in when on the pitch. And while Wolves may have a sizable budget due to their generous owners, this looks set to be a bargain as they’ll be able to sign him on a free transfer this summer when the 24-year-old defender’s contract expires in the summer.
And in a bonus for Wolves, Nottingham Forest don’t seem that keen to keep the defender and may not offer him a new contract. That would give them an easy shot at signing the Spaniard when they open talks later this week.
