It could all soon be a one-way street could the ownership of Leeds United with Italian Andrea Radrizzani said to be in negotiations with fellow Italian Massimo Cellino to buy out the latter’s 50% stake in the Whites.
With that a weight will be taken off many a Leeds fan’s mind, with the massive majority just happy that, hopefully, the focus might return to the pitch rather than the boardroom wranglings.
On the pitch, it has been sunshine instead of showers for Leeds United, with only a slight, mizzling downpour drowning out their play-off hopes. Behind the scenes it has been, well, quiet really. For once Leeds United have done their talking on the pitch, rather than trash-talking in the media.
This, combined with a Radrizzani ‘takeover’, should mean that the calmness continues into the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship campaign. Tumblers are beginning to fall into various chambers in the Leeds United lock, the rest Radrizzani has hinted will be concluded in time for rebuilding and focus to be applied well in advance of the new season.
Radrizzani is social media savvy, and this is evident through his posts on Instagram and Twitter, including the following tweeted from Leeds United’s Thorp Arch training ground earlier today – tagged as a reply to his earlier tweet about attending a Bruno Mars gig at Leeds’ First Direct Arena.
Good atmosphere at Torp arch today. Let s finish the season with a good game. Thank you all @LUFC fans for the fabulous support #MOT #ALAW

Anything coming from Radrizzani at the moment is bound to attract the attention of Leeds United fans, such is the nature of the beast. That is just what happened, Leeds fans replying to the man likely to soon become their new owner.
Radrizzani tweets about atmosphere on training ground – Leeds United fans respond
Here’s a fan correcting Radrizzani being corrected themselves.
Thorp Arch 😊

The following response adds a whole new urgency to paying for one’s own mistakes.
And if he gets it wrong, he has to give us all money..

As Leeds fan and Twitter user Hungry Duck points out.

The following pleas from Leeds fans are to be expected, such is the urgency to get Garry Monk back onboard after a successful season.

Thankfully some Leeds United fans have a sense of humour about them…at least let’s hope that it is humour and not seriousness.

Here’s a bit of advice on his next move, should Radrizzani be a little lost in his thoughts.
You need to announce @GarryMonk & @pepclotet & Bartley are signed fans can rest easy over summer then not worry what we going to lose
— Dean Moore (@DeanMoore2) May 6, 2017
Scenes and limbs if this were to ever happen. A little over-ambitious perhaps.
ANNOUNCE MBAPPÉ

More advice, but advice that is what a lot of Leeds United fans are hopeful will happen.
Atmosphere around the whole club has been immense all season, time to build on that though
— Luke (@luke_hill) May 6, 2017
This is a plea that many Leeds fans can associate themselves with, a situation felt many times before.

Fingers crossed on this one.
Can't wait till you announce that Monk and Pep have signed new contracts after the Wigan game tomorrow
— Sean McAteer (@mcateer_sean) May 6, 2017
Leeds United face already-relegated side Wigan Athletic tomorrow at noon, with Radrizzani possibly in attendance at the DW Stadium. Whatever happens tomorrow, Leeds fans know that their season is effectively over.
For Whites fans though, it’s all about the summer and one where signing Garry Monk and his backroom staff early will lay a big marker of hope down ahead of the new season.
