Wigan Athletic host Leeds United in the final game of the Sky Bet Championship this weekend, with both sides having nothing to play for.
Wigan Athletic are already relegated to Sky Bet League One, whilst their visitors Leeds United have missed out on a Play-Off place.
However, to one Wigan player, Sunday’s game means a lot.
Omar Bogle joined the Latics in January from Grimsby Town, but linked to Leeds United by several media outlets throughout the month.
However, the Yorkshire club refused to meet the demands of the club, and player, and therefore a deal was never made.
Speaking to the official Wigan website, interim boss Graham Barrow said: “I feel that I’ve experimented and used the squad over the course of the games I’ve been in charge. We’ve got one or two injuries anyway so I might involve some of the younger lads on the bench, and if possible get them on the pitch.”
“Omar Bogle is desperate to play. He should be busting a gut to play on Sunday. He’s almost 100% fit, and it will be a big game for him.
Talking about Garry Monk, the temporary Wigan boss said: “I’ve got a lot of time for Garry Monk and Leeds football club, and it’s probably not a bad game to play in the sense there’ll be a good atmosphere and it’ll be a reminder to the players that it’s what we’ll want to get back to.”
