Former Charlton Athletic player, Yann Kermorgant, was confirmed on Friday as securing the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award. Charlton Athletic fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news, who still hold a fond connection with their former player.

The league confirmed that Kermorgant had won the Player of the Month award for April, seeing off competition from the likes of John Brayford (Burton Albion), Stefan Johansen (Fulham) and Glenn Murray (Brighton and Hove Albion) to receive the award.

The former Addicks player scored seven goals in seven games for the month of April.

The sale of Kermorgant back in 2014 by Roland Ducahtelet is noted as one of the most vital mistakes that the ownership has made since taking over according to a number of fans.

Yann Kermorgant was a vital part of Charlton’s most recent success in their history under Chris Powell. Kermorgant was part of Powell’s Charlton side which romped League One with a 101 point summit finish back in the 2011/12 season.

Charlton fans took to Twitter to react to their former player, and regarded by some as a legend, winning the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award for April.
