Fulham send scouts to watch Italian defender

Fulham have sent scouts over to Italy to watch Spal’s Francesco Vicari according to a report from Italian publication Gianluca Di Marzio.

While the Cottagers are not sure what league they will be in next season, they have qualified for the Sky Bet Championship play-offs barring a freak goal swing and could get promoted to the Premier League, they have already started looking for players to sign in the summer that would strengthen their squad no matter what division they end up in. And they have scouts in Italy watching a player they may look to sign in the summer.

Their scouts are closely watching Vicari, a player who has been key for his club Spal this season. The club are currently in Serie B but thanks to the defender and some of the great performances put in by the team, they are very close to getting promoted to Serie A. But this sort of form means you do get noticed and that is why Fulham scouts are closely watching him over a potential move in the summer.

But the West London side are set to face a lot of competition for Vicari’s signature, with teams from Serie A interested in signing him. This report suggests that Chievo Verona and Sassuolo are also interested in his signature and will be hoping to tempt him with a move in the next few months. But should Fulham get promoted, the chance to play in the Premier League may be just too much for Vicari to resist.
