Several other clubs are interested in signing Cardiff City’s Peter Whittingham as he looks set to leave the club according to a report from Wales Online.
The veteran 32-year-old midfielder is a legend at the Cardiff City Stadium as he has been brilliant for the club since he signed for them from Aston Villa all the way back in 2007. He was the key player when the Bluebirds got promoted to the Premier League and even though he doesn’t start as much as he did in his prime years with Cardiff, he can still give the team a boost with his impressive set pieces.
But it looks like he may be on his way out of Cardiff after ten years with the club. While head coach Neil Warnock is on record saying he would like the former England U21 international to stay, the new deal he has been offered does seem him having to take a massive pay cut if he wants to stay at South Wales. He may decide that his love for the club outweighs the money and take that lower offer, but it does seem likely that he may leave and join another club.
And several teams are interested in signing Whittingham should he decide to leave Cardiff. While these clubs are currently unknown, they are closely monitoring the situation should he decide to end his time with the club. These teams believe that Whittingham still has a lot to give and that his killer set pieces could be vital in their efforts to improve.
