Aston Villa are fortunate to have an owner in Dr Tony Xia who cares so much about making the fans happy at Villa Park.

Villa have endured a turbulent first campaign under the 40-year-old Chinese entrepreneur’s leadership but the club have built a platform to build on to challenge for promotion next season.

Xia is very much a perfectionist and the Chinese businessman clearly craves much needed success for those wearing claret and blue. Prior to Xia’s arrival at the club, Villa were a club in decline but almost 12 months on, fans can look upwards for the first time in years after seeing the rot stopped at Villa Park.

The appointment of manager Steve Bruce could prove to be a good one with the former Birmingham City and Hull City boss having a good track record of gaining promotion to the Premier League and it is highly likely that ambitious owner Xia will back his manager heavily in the summer.

Xia’s plans for success starts with the club’s biggest asset, their fanbase. The Chinese businessman can be described as something of a Twitter nut with Xia regularly communicating with fans direct on social media and he knows that having the support of the Villa faithful can be the club’s greatest weapon.

Sunday’s final home match of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion sees Xia continue to bond with the fans by thanking them for their continued support. Season ticket holders will be given a voucher for either a free beer or soft drink while a social media competition could see one fan win a pitchside visit.

There are too many care-free overseas owners in the game these days but Villa are lucky, in Xia they have a man who is fanatical about Aston Villa and their future success.
