As we are getting towards the end of the season, we are starting to get retain lists announced by clubs in the EFL. One of the first teams to do this was Norwich, who released their’s earlier today. While some of the names on that list weren’t a surprise, with the likes of Michael Turner and Steven Whittaker expected to leave this summer, one name in particular was a surprise.
While John Ruddy hasn’t been in the best of form over his last two years at Carrow Road, he is still a favourite at the club after being a key player in their initial promotion to the Premier League back in 2010. But while he was a regular this season, it seems like his high wages meant that Norwich were forced to release him to get some more money in the budget for next season.
