Barnet interested in signing two Portsmouth midfielders

League Two side Barnet are interested in signing Portsmouth midfielders Gareth Evans and Amine Linganzi this summer, according to Sunday’s print edition of The Sun.

Portsmouth have just had their promotion to League One confirmed following a 3-1 away victory over Notts County, but could still lose two key midfielders this summer.  Barnet, who are 15th in League Two, are interested in signing Evans and Linganzi in what would be two very ambitious moves.

Evans, 29, has been a Portsmouth player since 2015 and has made 44 appearances for the club this season, scoring five goals along the way.  Naturally a winger, Evans was a key player for Pompey last season, scoring ten league goals for the club.  However, this season he has established himself at right-back, keeping Drew Talbot out of the team.

Amine Linganzi, 27, signed for Portsmouth at the start of this season and has made 19 league appearances for the club this season.  His first taste of English football was with Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League, before joining Accrington Stanley and then Gillingham.  He then played for Fréjus Saint-Raphaël in France before returning to England with Portsmouth.

Both players have been regulars for Portsmouth this season, but could leave the club this summer.  It is understood that Pompey are looking to shake up their squad before next season, so the midfielders could end up remaining in League Two.
