Swindon Town whitewash any mention of relegation from match report

Swindon Town have failed to mention they were relegated in their match report on their club website of their 2-1 loss to Scunthorpe United.

The Robins went into their match with promotion chasing Scunthorpe needing a win if they wanted to stay in Sky Bet League One. However things would go badly for Swindon and their relegation was eventually confirmed in another defeat for them.

The situation looked dire from the off when goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux made an error and quite literally dropped the ball. The ball would drop right to the feet of Murray Wallace who didn’t need to think twice before putting the ball into the back of the net.

And in the second half, Scunthorpe would eventually score the goal that would condemn Swindon to relegation. Sam Mantom would score from close range to double the Iron’s lead, a lead that the Wiltshire side would be unable to pull back.

They did get a bit of hope late on though. Rohan Ince would score a spectacular goal, one that’d make you believe Swindon had the talent to avoid the drop all along. But while they would press forward and look for an equaliser, the full time whistle would eventually come and relegation was confirmed.

However one place where you wouldn’t know Swindon were relegated in their official club website. While their match report gives a detailed recap of the game, they fail to mention that it caused them to be relegated and if you just got your news from them, you’d still think Swindon would be in League One next season.
