Miserable season sees Forest cancel awards dinner

Sky Bet Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest have made the decision not to celebrate their players’ individual successes over the course of the season after deciding to cancel the club’s end of season awards ceremony according to the Nottingham Post.

Their official end of season awards dinner was scheduled to be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre on 1 May however with the club having endured a turbulent season in English football’s second tier Forest have made the decision to scrap the event.

At this stage, there seems to be no plans to rearrange the awards ceremony once the season has ended and any individual awards are likely to be handed to the winners on a much more low key basis.

With just three matches of the Sky Bet Championship season remaining, Forest find themselves dangerously close to the drop zone. Mark Warburton’s men are just one point and one place above 22nd place Blackburn Rovers who occupy the final relegation spot and The Reds could well find themselves needing a result against Ipswich Town at The City Ground on the final day of the season to ensure survival.

Forest have won just one of their last eight league matches while they have picked up just five points from six matches under new boss Warburton.
