The72 Betting Predictions – a select few games for Saturday 22nd April

The Sky Bet League One season is nearing its completion, but there’s a full schedule of matches this Saturday (April 22nd 2017) and we’re going to provide our best bets for the upcoming fixtures.

We have two betting tips for  this weekend and while we’re not going out on much a limb with these tips, we feel it’s the best way to profit. With the season winding down a lot of sides don’t have anything to play for.

MK Dons v Sheffield United

Sheffield United (28-10-6) don’t have anything to play for right now, as they’ve locked up first place already. They have 94 points and easily have the best goal differential in the league at +41 (86 Scored v 45 Conceded).

MK Dons (15-13-16) are at home where they have a 7-6-9 record. With more losses than wins at home, I’m surprised we’re getting close to even money (1.90). I’ll gladly have a punt on the first place team at this price.

These two teams met back in October and Sheffield United won 2-1 at home. MK Dons have been in better form now than they were earlier in the season, though, as they’ve gone 4-2-1 in their last seven matches.

MK Dons may be in good form, but Sheffield United haven’t lost since late January. Sheffield United are 11-4-0 in their last 15 matches and I don’t see them letting up with two matches remaining during the regular season.

Port Vale v Bolton Betting Tips

I also can’t pass up Bolton (23-11-10) at 1.70 odds despite being away. Port Vale (11-12-20) is 21st on the table and they’ve been in terrible form. The team has lost four consecutive matches since April 4th.

Port Vale is a tough team at home where they have a 10-6-6 record. The team has only won one away match all year somehow. Three of their recent losses have been away, but they lost at home to Sheffield United earlier this month.

Bolton are winless in their last three matches and they’ve been making the race for second place on the table a lot closer than it should be. Fleetwood Town, Scunthorpe United and Bradford City are all within striking distance.

With so much on the line for the Wanderers, I expect them to come out and win away. They know how good of a team Port Vale are at home and I’d be surprised if they took them lightly.

While neither Bolton or Sheffield United are paying above evens, one option is to place a multi-bet punt on both sides winning their respective matches on Saturday. A multi-bet would offer a nice payout on two top teams.
