Reading not fancied for promotion by EFL partners

Third placed Sky Bet Championship club Reading are the least fancied club of those currently occupying a Play Off place to win promotion according to the latest odds provided by English Football League sponsors Sky Bet.

The Royals have grabbed third place after winning five of their last six league matches and are very much the form team going into the final weeks of the season.

Jaap Stam’s men have a six point cushion over seventh placed Leeds United however English Football League sponsors Sky Bet have The Royals priced at 9/2 outsiders for promotion behind Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham.

The Terriers are priced at 2/1 to reach the Premier League while fifth placed Wednesday can be backed at 3/1. Fulham are the 100/30 third favourites of those sides currently occupying the Play Off places while Reading are the rank outsiders.

Reading have consistently been challenging in the Play Offs since moving into the top six 15 matches into the current campaign. The Royals do have the leakiest defence of the four sides in the Play Off places however only Fulham have scored more goals that Stam’s men.

With Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham still to face each other in a match which could see one side miss out on the top six, it seems slightly disrespectful to dismiss Reading’s chances of a Premier League return however The Royals will be fired up to prove their doubters wrong.
