Brentford to chase signing of experienced striker

Sky Bet Championship club Brentford will make signing an experienced striker their top priority in the summer according to Get West London.

The Bees have enjoyed another solid season in English football’s second tier however manager Dean Smith feels that the club needs more competition for places in attack after losing the prolific Scott Hogan in the January transfer window.

Brentford have just Lasse Vibe and Philipp Hofmann as their designated first team strikers while youngster Justin Shaibu is not yet ready for regular first team involvement meaning that The Bees are very short on numbers in that area of the pitch.

The West Londoners have won four of their last five matches in the Sky Bet Championship and look set for a top half finish but with a new stadium at Lionel Road on the horizon, it is important that the club continues to grow on the pitch and scoring goals will only help their cause.

Brentford have netted 69 league goals this season which is significantly more than all four of the teams currently occupying the Play Off places but The Bees have real ambition these days and investing in the club’s future success is something which the board take very seriously.
