With the end of the English Football League coming nearer to its conclusion, these are the potential ups and downs from the English Football League this Easter Monday.

Sky Bet Championship

Brighton & Hove Albion have been the team to beat all season, and they could finally gain promotion on Monday.

The Seagulls face lowly Wigan Athletic at 3pm, however, the Seagulls will have to await the outcome of Derby County against Huddersfield Town.

Should David Wagner’s side fail to match Brighton’s result, then the Seasiders will be promoted.

Sky Bet League One

Chesterfield must win in order to prevent relegation for one more game. The Spireites play away at Scunthorpe United.

The Spireites could find themselves relegated, however, if Port Vale and Swindon Town both win, as would a point for Bury who play on Tuesday night.

Bury’s match also affects Bolton Wanderers and three points could see the Trotters promoted. But Bolton will need Monday defeats for Fleetwood Town and Bradford City, as well as needing Scunthorpe United to drop points.

Sky Bet League Two

Plymouth Argyle require just a point to secure promotion to Sky Bet League One. Argyle host Newport County on Easter Monday.

If Mansfield Town beat Luton Town, then Scunthorpe will be promoted regardless of their result.

Portsmouth could also join the Pilgrims by beating Notts County. Pompey will be up if they are victorious and if fourth-placed Luton drop points.

Leyton Orient play 22nd-placed Hartlepool United, who they trail by ten points with four games. The O’s must win to stave off relegation for one more game.
