Millwall set to bid for Lincoln City defender

Millwall are set to bid for Lincoln City defender Sean Raggett this summer, according to Sunday’s print edition of The Sun.

Raggett, 23, plays at centre-back and has had a great season for Lincoln, helping the team to the top of the National League.  The defender has made 44 appearances for Lincoln in all competitions this season and has scored an impressive seven goals.

Perhaps the most important of these goals came away to Premier League side Burnley in the FA Cup Fifth Round in February.  Raggett scored in the 89th minute of the game to send Lincoln through to set up a Quarter-Final tie away to Arsenal.  This meant that Lincoln became the first non-league team to reach the stage in 103 years.

Raggett began his career with Gillingham, in the club’s youth academy, but left at 16 to join Dover Athletic.  After making his debut for the club, the defender went on to make over 150 appearances for Dover before leaving to join Lincoln City last summer.

As a result of his good form this season, League One side Millwall are interested in signing the defender this summer.

Millwall are currently sixth in the table, but are only one point away from slipping out of the play-off places.  Manager Neil Harris takes his team to Fleetwood Town on Monday, who are currently third in the league, for what will be a tough game.
