Bristol City and Sheffield United are both interested in signing St Mirren’s Scottish winger Lewis Morgan, according to the Daily Mail.
Morgan, 20, has had a very successful season in the Scottish Championship with St Mirren. The winger has scored nine goals in 42 appearances in all competitions, and has also registered 12 assists. It is understood that this good form has attracted scouts from several sides, including from the Premier League.
The winger spent his youth career with Rangers, before joining St Mirren on an initial two-year deal in September 2013. After making his debut for the club in the 2014-15 season in the Scottish Premiership, Morgan signed a two-year contract extension with the club. This was followed up with another one-year extension last summer, keeping him at the club until 2018.
However, Morgan may be leaving St Mirren this summer following a very impressive season. The winger also made his debut for the Scotland Under-21 side against Estonia last month. Although currently injured, Morgan is looking to make his comeback before the end of the season.
St Mirren are currently eighth in the Scottish Championship, only three points away from being bottom of the league. This could tempt Morgan to leave the club this summer. St Mirren could look to cash in on the winger also, instead of running the risk of losing him for nothing next summer.
Bristol City and newly-promoted side Sheffield United are understood to be two of the sides interested in Morgan, but it looks as though they aren’t the only teams admiring Morgan.
