Queens Park Rangers weigh up move for Tottenham midfielder

Championship side Queens Park Rangers are weighing up a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Charlie Owens this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Owens, 19, will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season and this could tempt QPR to move for the teenager.  The midfielder is yet to make his debut for the first team at Tottenham but has had success with their youth teams.  A move down to the Championship may suit Owens as he searches for first-team football.

Queens Park Rangers are currently 16th in the Championship table and should be safe from relegation this season.  Therefore the club don’t have much to play for in the remaining games, so boss Ian Holloway can be forgiven for looking towards next season.

Owens joined Tottenham in July 2014 and has been playing for the club’s youth teams ever since.  The midfielder was a key player for Tottenham Hotspur Under-18s in 2015-16 and made the move into Under-21 football this season.  Owens has made 13 appearances in the Premier League 2 this term.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Owens is versatile and has also been known to play at centre-back for Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s at times this season.  The midfielder could be a good signing for QPR this summer, especially on a free transfer.

Queens Park Rangers travel to Bristol City this Friday, who will be looking for what would be a vital win in their fight against relegation to League One.
