Terriers star is wanted by Black Cats

Huddersfield Town loanee Aaron Mooy is understood to be wanted by Premier League strugglers Sunderland according to the Huddersfield Examiner.

The 26-year-old Australian born midfield ace has been in stunning form for The Terriers this season after joining the club on a season long loan deal from Premier League giants Manchester City back in July.

Mooy has arguably been the star in a Huddersfield Town side which have challenged for a Play Off spot in the Sky Bet Championship this season. The player has made 42 appearances for the West Yorkshire outfit and has scored four goals.

The midfielder’s loan spell at The John Smith’s Stadium has been used to help the player bed into the English game after joining parent club Manchester City from Australian outfit Melbourne City in the summer. It is unknown what the future holds for Mooy at The Etihad Stadium and the player could again be allowed to leave City next season.

It is thought that Sunderland would like to sign the midfielder in the summer as manager David Moyes looks to rebuild his squad after a dismal season in the Premier League. The player is valued at close to £10 million by City and any deal is likely to be agreed on a loan basis only.

Mooy has proved that he is a top quality talent although it is difficult to see just how he would fit in at Manchester City.
