Abraham, Tammy Abraham wants the Championship golden boot

Tammy Abraham wants the Championship golden boot

Bristol City’s Tammy Abraham has told the club website that his target for the rest of the season is to get the Sky Bet Championship golden boot.

The 19-year-old striker has been one of the best signings of the season as he has scored 21 goals for the Robins since moving on loan to them from Chelsea. He’s actually been one of the few bright spots in what has been an underwhelming season for the West Country side as he keeps on scoring goals while they fight against relegation.

And while Abraham’s number one priority to help Bristol City stay in the Championship, his own personal goal is to get the golden boot. Currently he is just three goals behind current Championship top goalscorer Chris Wood who has 24, one goal behind 2nd placed Dwight Gayle while he is tied for 3rd place with Glenn Murray. Now though he wants to overtake Wood and Gayle and be able to claim a very personal trophy this season.

He said: “I’m motivating myself and I’ll be doing everything I can to fight to finish in that top place (in the scoring charts).”

“The boys are helping me to get my goals. The number one target is to keep the club in the division though.”

“I wouldn’t say I’m surprised with how well things have gone for me personally. I knew what I was getting into; I knew it would be tough but I felt like I could adapt.”

“I felt settled as soon as I arrived. It feels like a family and I can’t thank everybody enough. I’m delighted with how it’s gone.”

“I don’t have a target. I’ll just keep pushing for the first spot.”
