Rosler, Fleetwood Town want Uwe Rosler to stay until end of season

Fleetwood Town want Uwe Rosler to stay until end of season

Fleetwood Town are hoping to persuade head coach Uwe Rosler to stay until the end of the season according to a report from The Sun.

Over the last few weeks reports have suggested that Rosler is set to become the new Norwich City manager even though the man himself has described those reports as fake news. However Stuart Webber, who was recently appointed as Norwich’s new sporting director, is a big fan of the German and it is now likely that Rosler will eventually make the move and become the new head coach of Norwich.

And while Fleetwood are resigned to the fact they will probably lose Rosler to Norwich, they are hoping that they can delay that move until the end of the season. The Cod Army have done extremely well and are currently 3rd in Sky Bet League One, with them having a slim chance of getting automatic promotion. But while that isn’t likely, they are looking likely to have a play-off place and will want to have the best chance possible of getting promoted through the play-offs.

Losing their manager would massively derail the latter part of the season and potentially wreck their first ever chance to get promoted to the Championship. And it is because of that Fleetwood are hoping to delay Rosler’s move to Norwich. The Canaries only have a very slim chance of making the Sky Bet Championship play-offs and don’t have much else to play for other than that, so Fleetwood hope to leverage that so Rosler will only take charge in the summer when he is finished with their season.
