Nottingham Forest, Forest safety can be a catalyst for a new dawn

Forest safety can be a catalyst for a new dawn

Nottingham Forest face six cup finals between now and the end of the campaign to ensure that they remain in the Sky Bet Championship for next season.

The Reds are winless in their last five matches including three under the guidance of new boss Mark Warburton while Forest hang just two points and two places above the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

Warburton’s men face Huddersfield Town at The City Ground this weekend before a monumental home clash with Blackburn Rovers on Good Friday. A trip to Cardiff City will not be easy nor will be the test provided by Jaap Stam’s Play Off chasing Reading side in Forest’s next home fixture. The final two matches of the campaign sees The Reds travel to Loftus Road to take on QPR before Ipswich Town visit The City Ground.

The reward for Forest for securing safety is undoubtedly the opportunity for boss Warburton to launch a new dawn at the club next season. In the former Brentford and Rangers boss, The Reds have a bright, hands on boss who can get the very best out of the club.

The failures of 2016/2017 can quickly be forgotten by Forest fans with some improved displays next season but the short term target is simply to battle to survival and grab a springboard for future success.
