Charlton’s Club Secretary’s wife mocks fans and compares their feelings to radicalisation

Charlton’s Club Secretary, Chris Parkes, is approaching his 29th year at Charlton Athletic. A lifelong fan and supporter of Charlton. However, his wife Sue Parkes continues to drag his good name through the mud, and antagonise concerned and disgruntled Charlton fans.

Back in 2014, Chris Parkes, received a commemorative plaque for his quarter of a century service to football. He has seen the bad times when Charlton were exiled from The Valley, as well as the peak of success under Alan Curbishley.

However, in the last year, with the growing rift between the Charlton faithful and the ownership which is evidently dragging the team into the lowest depths of its history. Mrs. Parkes seems to have gone against everything her husband represents, and the very soul of the red Southeast London outfit, spending a large amount of her time on Facebook defending Katrien Meire and Roland Duchatelet in their attempts to turn a famous and loved football club into a community social club.

On Saturday afternoon, when a Charlton crowd of over 600 traveled and made the journey to Cambridgeshire. Sue Parkes, purposely antagonised the concerned Charlton fans, who witnessed their side slide to just four points from the relegation zone. Before I continue, I recommend you watch the video below.

You may have to watch that more than once to believe your eyes. The wife of a senior member of the Charlton hierarchy proceeded to brush off the concerns of the lifeblood of the club. She continues to support the mission and desire of Roland Duchatelet and Katrien Meire to move away from ambition, into submission, from aspiration to deterioration and thought it was appropriate to smile after seeing Charlton succumb to another defeat, which now sees them sit a mere four points from the relegation zone into the lowest tier of professional English football.

After the game, she made a post on Facebook, have a read below.

She clearly states in her social media post on Facebook, that the fans fighting so hard for their club’s soul to return, that the hatred, anger, and distress that fans feel is the same that radicalised terrorists feel, at least that is how I have interpreted her words.

Unfortunately, for Chris Parkes, I have heard he is a gentleman and loves Charlton Athletic as much as we do. However, I also think that his wife has made his position untenable in a future ownership. She has become part of the cancer and pestilence which has been inflicted by the regime, she tries her best to grow the disease, and resist the cure. I have no doubt in my mind, that a new ownership will want to engage with the fan base, to ensure that a new owner can rebuild along with the fans, and I have no doubt that us fans will put forward the argument for Sue Parkes removal from the club, which will most likely cause collateral damage for Mr. Parkes.

I must say, it is not every day that the love and passion I have for my football club has been compared to the same feelings terrorists feel before they commit an act of terror. However, I am not too surprised, that’s Charlton Athletic at the moment in its current climate.
