It was announced on Wednesday afternoon, that the greatly missed French forward, Yann Kermorgant, is set to retire at the end of the 2017/18 campaign. Charlton fans always hoped that he would one day return to The Valley for a farewell. The Addicks’ fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news of Yann Kermorgant retiring.
It is understood that Yann Kermorgant will retire at the end of the next campaign, and will go into investment after he ends his successful professional football career. Yann Kermorgant was a vital part of Charlton’s most recent success in their history under Chris Powell. Kermorgant was part of Powell’s Charlton side which romped League One with a 101 point summit finish back in the 2011/12 season.

Charlton fans took to Twitter to respond to the announcement of his retirement. A striker and Charlton legend that they were hoping would have ended his career at The Valley. The sale of Kermorgant is seen as one of the greatest mistakes under the Roland Duchatelet regime.

Roland sells -> Reading get promoted -> Stam, like Howe, doesn't fancy Yann in the PL -> Yann returns home to #cafc for his farewell season
