Sheffield Wednesday’s hopes of reaching the Sky Bet Championship Play Offs are set to receive a huge boost with news that three attacking players are on the verge of a return to action according to the Sheffield Star.

After recording just one point from their last three league matches, The Owls’ place in the top six has come under threat from Play Off rivals Fulham. The Whites now sit just one point behind Carlos Carvalhal’s men while the West Londoners boast a significantly better goal difference than Wednesday.

The Owls find themselves facing crucial derby fixtures at Barnsley and Rotherham United following the international break and Wednesday are set to receive a boost going into those matches with news that attacking trio Fernando Forestieri, Ross Wallace and Gary Hooper are set to return to action.

Italian goal machine Forestieri has netted 11 goals in 32 appearances this season for Wednesday but the player has missed the club’s last two matches with a knee injury while teammate Wallace has suffered with the same problem.

Experienced campaigner Hooper has been one of the main absentees for The Owls this season with the striker having been out of action since mid-November.

Wednesday were defeated 1-0 by Hull City in last season’s Sky Bet Championship Play Off Final and Carvalhal’s men are hoping to go one better this time around.
