There’s a familiar feeling at the ABAX Stadium right now.
The Play-Off hopes are over for another season, and it will be a fifth successive season in Sky Bet League One next year.
It’s happened the last few years but Peterborough United fans thought that things were different this season.
Let’s skip back to Christmas, when Posh had a trip to Stamford Bridge to look forward to, and found themselves sitting pretty in fifth place.
Now, three months later, Peterborough United are sat in 12th place, eight points adrift of the Play-Offs, and just 11 points above the dreaded drop zone.
A survey conducted on WeAreThePosh, a Peterborough fan page on twitter, showed who the fans are blaming for the downturn in fortunes:

As you can see, a substantial amount of supporters are blaming the players for what’s happening at the club.
Posh are without a win in their last five games, including two draws against Chesterfield and Oldham Athletic, two relegation threatened teams.
January is always a difficult time at Peterborough, with speculation flying around all of their main players.
Chris Forrester, Leo Da Silva Lopes and Marcus Maddison were all linked with a move away from the club in the transfer window, but the club managed to keep hold of all three.
However, all three have seen a drop in their form since the end of January.
There’s rumours around the club as to whether this is because they do not want to be at the club, but one thing for certain is that the fans are not happy with what is going on.
Grant McCann is a legend at the club. He captained them to promotion to the Sky Bet Championship back in 2011, and there’s no reason why he can’t lead the club back there again.
Peterborough United certainly have the assets available to them, in the finances from chairman Darragh MacAnthony, and the players on the pitch.
It’s over for this season, but if whatever is going on behind the scenes can be sorted, then there is absolutely no reason why Peterborough can’t challenge next season.
