Dean Smith lavishes praise on Lasse Vibe

Brentford head coach Dean Smith has told Get West London that he believes that Lasse Vibe is an outstanding player and that he wouldn’t want to mark him.

While many goalscorers have been praised in the Sky Bet Championship this season, Vibe has gone under the radar, perhaps because Brentford haven’t looked like challenging for promotion this season. But he continued his good form at the weekend after scoring a brace against Burton Albion in their incredible 5-3 win over the Brewers, meaning he has now scored 11 goals this season.

And Smith decided to take the time and praise Vibe for his performances and goals over the last few weeks. He even gave him the highest praise of all and said that if he was still playing today he would hate to be marking him as he is so adept at causing his marker all sorts of trouble on the way to scoring.

He said: “I’ve got to give a special mention to Lasse. He worked his socks off and deserved his goals,”

“I said when I first came in. I’d seen him against Bolton and our first game against MK Dons and he was outstanding.”

“He’s got some great movement. I thought he got in behind them a number of times in the first half and deserved his goals.”

“I’m a former centre half myself and I wouldn’t want to mark him.”

Brentford will have to wait for a while for their next game due to the international break, but will eventually take on Bristol City.
