Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor will return to full training within the next seven days according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 30-year-old former England striker has been out of action since late January after picking up a hamstring injury and the player has missed a number of key fixtures in the Sky Bet Championship.

Villa are set to face seven league fixtures during a chaotic April schedule and manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that forward Agbonlahor is likely to play some part in those matches with the player scheduled to return to full training next week with a view to returning to the side following the international break.

Agbonlahor was frozen out of the Villa side during the first few months of the campaign after a controversial breach of conduct towards the end of last season saw the player suspended by the club  and left the striker out of favour.

New Villa boss Bruce gave Agbonlahor a final chance with the club and the player has gone on to make 12 appearances in claret and blue this season prior to his injury setback two months ago.

Agbonlahor has made 383 appearances for Villa while he has scored 84 goals for the club. The player has been at Villa Park since he joined Villa as a schoolboy.
