Wigan Athletic, Fleetwood Town and Northampton Town are interested in signing Nottingham Forest’s Jorge Grant according to a report from HITC Sport.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been seen as a bright prospect at Forest, though this season he has been out on loan at their local rivals Notts County in order to help with his development. This move has been great for Grant who has performed very well since the move and scored a great goal against promotion hopefuls Plymouth Argyle to get a shock win for them.
But this has led to a lot of interest in Grant and with his contract set to expire in the summer, it is possible to lure him away from the City Ground. Notts County have already expressed an interest in bringing him back to Meadow Lane on a permanent deal, though they will face a lot of competition from teams from the Sky Bet Championship and Sky Bet League One. Wigan have been very impressed with Grant’s performances and are looking to sign him in the summer while Fleetwood and Northampton are also interested in making a move for him.
Of course these teams may still have to pay for Grant even though his contract is set to expire. Due to Grant’s age, Forest would be owed compensation should they offer a contract to him and that may rule some teams out of the running to sign him. But even with a compensation fee, Grant will be a target for many teams when his contract expires.
