QPR provide huge banana skin for Leeds United

Leeds United’s promotion credentials could face a huge test this afternoon when they face a Queens Park Rangers outfit in top form at Elland Road.

Garry Monk’s Play Off chasing side are eight points clear of seventh placed Fulham with just 10 matches remaining and while The Whites go into their latest match in good form, the threat posed by mid-table QPR cannot be underestimated as Leeds United look to record another crucial three points.

After changing their transfer policy towards signing hungry, young players rather than making expensive additions in the summer, QPR have endured a season of struggle in the Sky Bet Championship and manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was replaced by Ian Holloway in the managerial hotseat at Loftus Road back in November.

Holloway has spent the early days of his second spell in charge of The R’s trying to improve the club’s performances and record more consistent results and the West London club look to be now reaping the rewards of the Bristolian’s leadership with four wins from their last five league matches.

QPR’s recent improved results have not come against clubs currently sitting in the top 10 of the Sky Bet Championship table however Holloway’s men pose a significant threat to Leeds United’s push to secure a Play Off spot and The Whites will need to be fully focussed on this afternoon’s task to ensure that they do not become the visitor’s latest scalp.
