Norwich unceremoniously ditch manager Neil – bookies top 5 replacements

Alan Irvine – odds 8/1

Irvine, who has been installed as effectively in charge since Alex Neil’s sacking earlier tonight, joined Norwich as first team coach at the beginning of July 2016. He said at the time to the club website: “The most important thing is that I come in and make a contribution, and that’s what I’m looking to do.”

As a manager, Irvine’s last appointment was at West Brom where the 58-year-old Scot managed just 22 games before feeling the management bullet at the tail-end of December 2014.

Irvine has managed 188 matches in his career, winning 73, drawing 42 and losing 73 – gaining an average of 1.39 points per game.

Alan Pardew – odds 4/1

55-year-old Pardew’s last job was managing Premier League side Crystal Palace, the Wimbledon-born boss being sacked on December 22 last year after 87 games in charge.

Before managing Palace, Pardew had been in the hotseat at St James’ Park, managing the Magpies for 184 games over the course of just over four years at the helm.

Pardew has managed 624 matches in his career, winning 256, drawing 135 and losing 233 – gaining an average of 1.45 points per game.

Next up are the two seen as the second a first choices, one being a heavyweight in the job market.
