Norwich City have sacked manager Alex Neil with the club winless in their last five Sky Bet Championship matches.
The Canaries were relegated from the Premier League last season and hopes were high for an immediate return to the top flight but a turbulent campaign has seen Neil guide the club to an underwhelming eighth position in the table, nine points adrift of the Play Off places.
Fans have been calling for the former Hamilton Academical manager’s sacking for a number of weeks and the pressure increased on Tuesday evening after The Canaries could only draw 1-1 at struggling Bristol City. After hearing news of Neil’s dismissal, fans took to Twitter to give their views on the situation.

as much as it's the right move, still feel sad to see alex neil go, lifetime memories made from his first season reign to wembley! #ncfc

My club never fails to amaze me! Unfortunately its normally baffled amazement. I'm pleased AN has gone, but what a messy way to do it! #ncfc

I have no issue with the sacking of Alex Neil. I do however have no faith in the board who have little exp. to make a good appt.#ncfc

Wembley was a great day that we'll never forget, but after a relegation and languishing in the Championship again, it was time to go.. #ncfc

Please not Alan Irvine, but then again we'll probably take the easiest and cheapest option #ncfc
