PREVIEW: Sheffield Wednesday v Norwich City

Sheffield Wednesday go into Saturday’s home fixture against improving Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship knowing that avoiding defeat is a minimum requirement.

Should The Owls fall to defeat to Alex Neil’s side, the race for the final Play Off place would be blown wide open and Carlos Carvalhal will hope that Wednesday can kick on and record a hugely important victory in South Yorkshire on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday go into the match with doubts over defender Morgan Fox who is struggling with an ongoing ankle problem. There is some good news for The Owls with striker Gary Hooper set to return to the squad.

Visitors Norwich City arrive at Hillsborough in good form with Neil’s men having lost on just one of their last nine outings in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Canaries will be without winger Matt Jarvis who is nursing a hamstring injury although Youssouf Mulumbu has recovered from a thigh injury and could feature.

Norwich City are unbeaten in their last three matches against Sheffield Wednesday while they have not conceded a single goal against The Owls in these fixtures. The Owls’ last success over the Norfolk outfit came on 4 April 2009 when Jermaine Johnson’s goal gave Wednesday a 1-0 victory at Carrow Road.
