Nottingham Forest must not fear Brighton and Hove Albion

Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash has told the Nottingham Post that they must not fear Brighton and Hove Albion if they want to beat them.

The Seagulls are certainly a worthy side to fear as they are currently on top of the Sky Bet Championship and their chances of getting promoted to the Premier League increase every week as they get closer to the end of the season. Next up for them is Nottingham Forest who have underwhelmed this season and are currently under the charge of interim head coach Gary Brazil after the sacking of Philippe Montanier.

And the 19-year-old midfielder knows that this is going to be a tough game but that if they play with fear, they won’t win the game. But he believes that the squad has a lot of quality and that if they play to their best, they could end up springing a surprise and beat Brighton though it will require a lot of hard work from everyone on the pitch.

He said: “I have seen Brighton play a few times recently and they are a very good side – but so are we,”

“We have some very good players in this squad now and we are not worried about Brighton.”

“The only thing we can be concerned about is making sure we are at our best; that we perform to the level we are capable of. If we can do that, we can do well.”

“I think we will be fine, when it comes to the situation at the wrong end of the table.”

“We have so much firepower now, we have the likes of Ross, Ben (Brereton), Britt (Assombalonga) and Zach (Clough) – and many more beyond that. We have so many options now.”

“It is good to have that many quality forwards at the club. The goals did not come against Wigan, but we know with players like that, there is no doubt that they will come.”

“The fans will be frustrated that we have not scored many goals lately – that is understandable. But we know the goals will come, if we keep doing the right things, because of the attacking quality we have at the club.”
