Reading’s George Evans has told the Reading Chronicle that their head coach Jaap Stam never stops trying to get the team to improve.
The Royals have been doing very well since the appointment of Stam as their manager and they have been challenging for promotion, currently sitting 5th in the Sky Bet Championship. However in recent weeks, they have lost key games to promotion rivals with defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town happening in recent weeks.
This bad run saw them drop down the table as before this, they had been challenging to break into the automatic promotion zone. But Evans has said that they will soon get out of this bad run as Stam and the rest of the squad are constantly working hard to improve and it is that which will get Reading back on track again so they can make another run for those top two places.
He said: “If you’re not willing to improve, it’s a downfall,”
“Everyone is looking to improve, and the gaffer wants us to improve each and every game.”
“Even when we win good games, the major aim is to keep improving again.”
“It’s a lot of hard work on the training ground, a lot of clips to look at, so we’ll be working hard to get a result.”
“We need to go out and work hard again, learn from mistakes, and go and get three points to move us on,”
“From the last time we played Wolves, we’re a completely different team.
“It was the early stage of the season and we didn’t get the result we wanted when went there.
“But this time we’re determined to get the right result when they visit us.”
