No fear of Birmingham City from Danny Batth

Wolves’ Danny Batth has told the Birmingham Mail that they have no fear of Birmingham City going into their game at the weekend.

The Black County side may have gone out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 to Chelsea at the weekend, but they can proud that they put in a good performance against the Premier League leaders even if they eventually succumbed to their superior quality with goals from Pedro and Diego Costa eventually sinking them.

But now the distractions of the cup are over and they must get down to business by playing Birmingham at the weekend, a team desperately out of form ever since they decided to sack Gary Rowett and replace him with Gianfranco Zola. And Batth, Wolves’ team captain, believes that they can use the confidence they gained in that loss against Chelsea to help them beat Birmingham and continue the misery of their West Midlands rivals.

He said: “We’ve got nothing to fear,”

“We said in the dressing room straight after the Chelsea game that if we take that level of performance into the league matches, starting with Birmingham, we won’t have a problem.”

“Our performance definitely dipped against Wigan but previous to that we had Newcastle here, who are at the top of the table, and on another day we would have beaten them.”

“We go into the Birmingham game full of confidence. We’ll have had almost a week to recover from the Chelsea match and I think we’re all looking forward to it.”
