Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield Wednesday defender set for return

Sheffield Wednesday defender set for return

Sky Bet Championship promotion chasers Sheffield Wednesday are set to welcome defender Morgan Fox back into the squad for Tuesday evening’s fixture against Brentford at Hillsborough according to the Sheffield Star.

The 23-year-old Chelmsford born defender missed Saturday’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest with an ankle injury but the player is pushing for a recall against The Bees.

Fox sustained his injury during the recent 2-1 home success over struggling Blackburn Rovers when he twisted his ankle and it has now been revealed that the player has returned to full training and could be set for a swift return to the side.

Sheffield Wednesday signed the left back from Sky Bet League One outfit Charlton Athletic on transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee and Fox has gone on to feature for his new club on three occasions, helping The Owls to two wins and a draw.

Fox is a product of the Charlton Athletic academy system and the youngster graduated into the first team at The Valley. The defender made 116 appearances for The Addicks scoring one goal while the player also spent time gaining first team playing experience on loan at Notts County earlier in his career.

The youngster qualifies to play for Wales through his parents and with Fox having already received his first international call up to the senior squad, the player is tipped for a very bright future.
